Columbia Basin Water Hub
KEI manages two dozen sites for Living Lakes Canada. Stream flow, wetland, and lake locations are monitored, and KEI was responsible for siting, installation, maintenance, and data collection and analysis for each site. Researchers and municipalities use this data to understand the impacts of climate change.

City of Nelson Water Advising
KEI monitors and reports to the City of Nelson on the three streams used for drinking water. Through freshet, regular reporting ensures the City is prepared for emergencies during high flow periods. KEI also reports during the summer to provide valuable input into recommended watering restrictions.
Prescribed Burn Study
KEI monitored stream flow and water quality data to study the impacts of controlled burns on watersheds used for drinking water. Rather than planned burns, the watersheds experienced substantial wildfires in 2021, and the project was completed using the data collected after.

City of Nelson Water Loss Study
KEI analyzed water meter data from the City’s institutional, commercial, and industrial properties to determine sites that may be experiencing on-site water loss. The property owners were then engaged to identify possible sources on water loss, and were given advice on fixing the leaks and losses.
